Our Pregnant Pause

So much has happened since I last blogged that I don’t really know where to start. Let
me just say that our pregnant pause has now ended…in more ways than one.

On September 2, after a fairly short labor and without an epidural (will complain about
Indian nurses in a future blog), I gave birth to our beautiful baby girl, Allika. She’s four
months old now- flipping over and back and trying the army crawl. Aari was suddenly
not our little baby and was promoted to being an older brother, a title he is shouldering
fairly well so far.

Chandu interviewed with and accepted an offer from BITS Pilani- Hyderabad campus.
There was a flurry of activity in November. We went from Bombay to Vijayawada, and
amidst all the late night feedings and sleeplessness, we managed to buy stuff for the
new place and pack. Exactly 9 months after coming to India, living a highly nomadic life
between Bombay and Vijayawada and constantly wondering where we would end up,
we finally moved to Hyderabad in November.

It has been a great vacation and now, as Nandu, my brother-in-law put it, the
honeymoon is over. But maybe another has begun…?
